Blades of Grass

Founded by
Kathryn Casternovia and Jef Ramsey in 2013.
Kathryn on acoustic guitar and Jef on mandolin;
they harmonize and share lead vocals.
They are a duo, a trio or larger band adding stand-up bass, dobro, and fiddle.
Their repertoire includes bluegrass, vintage country, Western swing, original compositions and more.
They are available for parties, festivals,
and other special affairs.
Jef worked regularly for 20 years as the frontman of popular acoustic bands in the Puget Sound, society gigs, and as a street performer 10 years. Jef taught 5 years at the Sorento, B.C. bluegrass workshop.
Kathryn’s musical training began with nine years of classical piano. She grew up in the Ozark mountains of Missouri and has roots in country, folk and bluegrass music. Kathryn is available for guitar lessons.
They have performed regularly in the Rogue Valley since 2013.
The couple resides in Ashland.
